Specifying the number of articles

FeedWind automatically adjusts the number of feeds that are shown depending on the width and height settings of the widget. Simply by determining the size of the widget, your feeds will be displayed nicely.

However, there might be a case in which you want to display, say, exactly 5 feeds. There is a simple trick for cases like this. With a slightly more complicated set up, “Entry Title” and “Entry Contents” can be tweaked to realize a specific number of entries

Note, however, that despite these adjustments, sometimes you will see FeedWind displaying 4 or 5 feeds. This is caused by problems on the side of the feed provider and we cannot do anything about this.

The following is an example for displaying 3 entries from the CNET feed. You can use a similar method for tailoring your specific feed.

(1)Adjust the Entry Title to fit in one line
By default, Maximum Length under “Entry Title” is set to 20 letters. This causes the title to be wrapped as shown in the figure.

To prevent the wrapping of the text the setting is changed to 13.

(2)Fit the entry content within 2 lines
By default, Maximum Length under “Entry Contents” is set to 40 letters. As before this causes the text to be wrapped to a third row, in turn, causing the only 3 entries to be shown. Setting the Maximum length to 27 allows the text to fit into 2 lines.

Clicking on advanced setting under “Entry Contents” brings up the settings form. Maximum Length is set to 27.

Finally, the title fits on 1 row while the content fits on 2 rows allowing 3 entries to be shown in the widget. As explained, this method can be used to adjust the number of entries shown and layout of the widget.
